Join us for our latest Webinar: Asthma & Allergy Awareness
18 May 2021
Asthma, a chronic and incurable condition, affected an estimated 262 million people in 2019. In an endeavour to reduce the symptoms of asthma, sufferers are often advised to avoid triggers so that medication does not need to be used as much.
Avoiding triggers is often impossible, especially during the summer as it is peak time for seasonal allergies. Pollen, which is brought about by grass, trees and weeds can flair up symptoms such as sneezing, itchy throat and swelling of the mouth/airways. These symptoms can make everyday life extremely hard for asthma sufferers.
Fleming Medical are running a webinar on Asthma and Allergy Awareness on the 25th of May at 10am. This free webinar will focus on asthma and seasonal allergies. Our guest speaker, Dr. Dorothy Ryan from Beaumont Hospital, is an expert in respiratory conditions with a speciality interest in airways diseases - severe asthma and bronchiectasis. Her presentation will take a case-based approach to highlight the challenges in diagnosing and managing uncontrolled and severe asthma, with particular emphasis on the use of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) in guiding use of inhaled corticosteroids in asthma.
