It is commonly used for patients suffering with a ‘whiplash’ injury following a motor accident. It can be used to support the patient’s neck and head in order to aid the healing process and prevent further injury. It can also be used as an immobilizing device, used by medical professionals where an injury is suspected. The patient can wear the foam collar until an x-ray can be taken to determine if a spine fracture exists. Foam Collars can also be used therapeutically to help realign the spinal cord and relieve pain caused by strains, sprains and whiplash injuries. The foam collar is also useful for patients post-surgery.
